The Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF) is aprimarily government-funded loan / grant scheme that provides financial assistance to needy Namibian students to study at approved institutions of higher learning. Originally established as a Division within the Ministry of Education (MoE), the NSFAF has been serving the Namibian public since its establishment in 1996.
The Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund is operated by Student Support & Development and funding is received from the Namibian Government with assistance from the National Council for Higher Education.
It is aimed at tackling educational disadvantage by providing financial support to those who may require additional financial support to enable them to fully benefit from their high education. The mission of the NSFAF is to produce, in line with NDP1 & NDP2 (National Development Plan), through loans and scholarship awards, the national critical mass of men and women with relevant knowledge, skills and competencies for both public and private sectors in Namibia.
